Petition of Patsey J. Ligon
In the matter of the estate of Edgar Ligon deceased for letters of Administration.
To the Hon. R.H. Flannigan, Judge of the County Court of Franklin County, in the State of Illinois.
The Petition of the undersigned Patsey J. Ligon respectfully represents that Edgar Ligon late of the County of Franklin aforesaid, departed this life at home in said County on or about the 7 day of Feby A.D. 1894, leaving no last will and testatment as far as your petitioner know or believe.
And this petition further shows that the said Edgar Ligon died, seized and possessed of Real and Personal Estate consisting chiefly of
One pare of mules one cow three sows & fourteen small pigs poultry and ten acres of growing wheat
one wagon one breaking plow & one double shovel plow & one ?? one horseplow & about 15 shocks of corn in field &
house hold goods
all of said personal estate being estimated to be worth about two hundred and fifty dollars.
That said deceased left surviving him Patsey J Ligon his widow, and elmer, Charley T, Everet, Eva M, & Paula Ligon his children as heirs.
That your petitioner (being widow of said deceased), and believing that the said estate should be immediately administered, as well for the proper management of said Estate as for the prompt collection of the assets, by virtue of her right under the Statue she therefore pray that your honor will grant Letters of Administration to Patsey J. Ligon in the premises, upon her taking the oath prescribed by the Statute, and entering into bond in such sum, and with securites, as may be approved by your honor.
