Joseph and Betty had eleven children, four daughters and seven sons.

Joseph's obituary reads, "JOSEPH R. MOUREY, 71, of Fort Wayne died yesterday at home. The veteran of World War II, retired in 1987 as owner of Brook-Mill TV Inc. after 23 years, served as chairman of the Indiana State Radio-TV License Bureau 1983-1987, and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Civil Air Patrol, American Legion Post 29 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2457. Surviving are his wife, Betty J.; daughters, Deanna L. Willibey of Leo, Joann M. Williams and Teresa K. Buschey, both of Fort Wayne, and Carol A. Lahrman of New Haven; sons, Ronald J., Dale R., Darryl L. and Dennis G., all of Fort Wayne, Larry R. of Zeeland, Mich., John F. of Atlanta and Robert A. of Payne, Ohio; sisters, Helen Jacquay and Ruth A. Coonrod, both of Monroeville, Sister Mary E. Mourey of California, Pauline Klinger of Payne, and Blanche A. Schaefer and Maxine Rorick, both of Fort Wayne; brothers, Edwin L. of New Haven, James of Las Vegas and Richard of Stroh; 23 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services are 10:15 a.m. Friday in D. O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave., and 11 a.m. in the church. Calling is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home, with a vigil at 6:45 p.m. Burial will be with military honors in the church cemetery.
