- No marriage record for Jonathan Stoddard is found. His gravestone names wife Mary Geer who outlived him. The only chance to have a wife Mary Lee is before Mary Geer. Source:Meech, Susan Spicer. History of the Descendants of Peter Spicer, a Landholder in New London, Connecticut, as Early as 1666, and Others of the Name, p. 71, says Mary Lee, d/o Joseph Lee and Priscilla Spicer m. Jonathan and credits her with children Jonathan b. 1789, Polly b. 1791 with no death date, no mention of a second wife. The will of her father, dated 1816, is given p. 468-9, and contains no mention of daughter Mary or any of these children. This suggests the alleged marriage is an error.
