Family:John Morrow and Elizabeth Unknown (1)

Most of their children moved to Illinois, to Greene and Mason Counties. There is another John and Elizabeth Morrow in Greene County, but DNA tests have shown the groups are not related.

Family here established in part by will of John Morrow, signed 14 Sep 1815. Will names wife Elizabeth, daughter Nancy in need of care, two oldest sons William and John, daughter Margaret (wife of Hazel Dickey), daughter Jane wife of James Davis, daughter Rebeccah, and sons Allen, Thomas, Arthur, and Joseph.

Son Joseph Morrow's will, dated 5 Apr 1816 and presented in the May term, in Rowan Co, NC, is consistent. It names mother Elizabeth, sisters Nancy Morrow, Jane Davis, Elizabeth Davis, and Rebecca Morrow, and brothers Allen, Thomas, Arthur, William. Nancy needed care by her mother and/or siblings. The will is consistent with all the siblings living in the same area at the time, as John, who had left the area, is missing.
