↑ Source:Dow, Joseph. History of the Town of Hampton, New Hampshire, Vol. 2, p. 729, says Ebenezer Godfrey married Patience daughter of Edmund Johnson. This is an error, as the will of Edmund Johnson names his daughter Patience Neal, she having married John Neale in 1728, clearly incompatible with the children born to Ebenezer and Patience. So Ebenezer's wife must be somebody else.
