[add comment] [edit] GEDCOM New TagHi, we're working on uploading your GEDCOM(s). It appears that they have a new tag that we have not seen before representing the godparents in a christening event. We're working on fixing that problem so that this information is correctly uploaded to WeRelate.org. -Nathan 09:57, 9 March 2007 (MST) Hello. Thank you so much for taking care of that. I have edited the gedcom manually to remove the Umlauts (ä,ö,ü) and uploaded it a second time to tree2.
[add comment] [edit] GEDCOMs UploadedI just wanted to let you know that your GEDCOMs have been uploaded. I noticed that you uploaded Celia.ged twice -- so you may have a few duplicate pages. Feel free to delete the duplicate pages. I would delete them for you but I'm not sure which ones you would like to keep. However, your larger file is uploaded, including the Umlauts! -Nathan 14:58, 9 March 2007 (MST) Some people are a little confused when they upload their GEDCOM and find a random distant relative in the Family Tree Explorer window. It looks like the GEDCOM was not uploaded properly. Actually, your desktop pedigree manager (PAF, Family Tree Maker, Legacy, etc.) will not designate a root person when you export a GEDCOM. After the upload is complete, a random person from your GEDCOM will appear in the Family Tree Explorer window. So, you will want to click on the Index button directly above the Pedigree window. (It is second from the right, the one with the black parallel lines next to the three family tree buttons.) Click the person you want to be the root person. Then, click on the bullseye button. (The bullseye button is the one with a green dot and a green circle over a pedigree icon, farthest left under the file menu item in the Family Tree Explorer window.) You can Bookmark this page and repeat the process for other persons in your tree. This will make it easier to skip from one line to another. If you have any more problems opening your tree, please let me know. --sq 15:29, 9 March 2007 (MST) [add comment] [edit] GEDCOM Re-uploadBecause of user demand, we've decided to make re-uploading a gedcom a high priority on our todo list. Re-uploading the same GEDCOM hasn't been supported because we don't have a way to delete all the pages from an entire GEDCOM. However, we will create a way for a user to delete a GEDCOM which has been uploaded so that it may be reuploaded. We should have this ready by the end of next week. -Nathan 10:44, 16 March 2007 (MDT) |
