GEDCOM processor behind [12 September 2007]

Just wanted to let you know that a lot of people are uploading GEDCOM's today and the GEDCOM processor is running a few hours behind, but your GEDCOM should be processed soon.--Dallan 12:57, 12 September 2007 (EDT)

Error importing brownged.ged [15 September 2007]

We had an error while attempting to import brownged.ged. This is most likely our fault. We will review the error and should have your pages ready tomorrow (or Monday if tomorrow falls on a weekend). There is no need to re-import your GEDCOM file.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that we're working on this. We should have the problem fixed today or tomorrow.--Dallan 13:41, 14 September 2007 (EDT)

I deleted that gedcom because I think I accidentally included living people. So I deleted the Brown tree and then uploaded a new gedcom w/o living people information. That may have been the problem and why the originial gedcom didn't process correctly - not your fault, but mine.--Scotishmariner 12:39, 15 September 2007 (EDT)

Duplicate person and family pages [21 September 2007]

Hello, and welcome to WeRelate!

I'm Mary, one of the volunteer administrators. I noticed that you have a lot of duplicate person and family pages (for example, the Ketcham/Ketchum family). I started to make some corrections (consolidating the information that appeared in two different places into a single page), but perhaps it would be better if you tried to make these deletions and consolidations yourself.

If you haven't taken the "helicopter tour" on the home page and watched the "Getting Started" tutorial, I would recommend that you do so. Deleting some of the duplicates should be pretty easy--there is a Delete "button" near the top right corner of every page.

If you need more specific help, please feel free to contact me, Dallan, Solveig, or post a question on the Watercooler. We realize that there is a learning curve to mastering WeRelate, but the only way to learn it is to do it.

Take care, Mary--Kittydoc 15:12, 18 September 2007 (EDT)

I shall do that. Probably need to clean up my database as well. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Homer [28 November 2007]

Hi, I redirected Place:Homer, Onondaga Co., NY to Place:Homer, Onondaga, New York, United States so that it would follow the standard format for place titles, but then I noticed that in the text you say that Homer is a village in Cortland county, and we have a page for Place:Homer, Cortland, New York, United States. Should the page for Homer in Onondaga county be merged into the page for Homer in Cortland county? You (or I) could do this by copying the text from Place:Homer, Onondaga, New York, United States into Place:Homer, Cortland, New York, United States, and then deleting the text in Place:Homer, Onondaga, New York, United States and replacing it with

#redirect [[Place:Homer, Cortland, New York, United States]]

Hey scotishmariner,

I have been interested in researching my family history for quite some time, and your search and pages helped me immensely with this. I am the youngest granddaughter of Everett Edick, who, it would seem, is a relative of yours as well. Thank you so much for all of this!--TwilightStar 20:07, 5 October 2009 (EDT)

Carroll in Alabama [23 December 2011]

Hello I see from your different family pages that you have several Carroll relatives in Alabama. There is most likely a connection between our families.

Hatch [9 July 2012]

Hello, I just started to create a family tree. I was doing a google search on my father's grandfather, Andrew Hatch, and came upon this link. I do not know much about my family, other than my father was raised by a foster family. He rarely talked about his family. He died in 1990. I would like to know more on my family history. Thank you!--Sonyaholloway1 22:15, 8 July 2012 (EDT)
