Surname pages [20 November 2007]

Hi, I am an admin for WeRelate and its my job to patrol pages, look for problems and help people. I noticed that you had deleted all the related names for Phipps, Hester, and Minter. I am sorry but I needed to restrore the lists. :)

The related names list helps the search engine find ancestor pages that may be related to the search subject. This is a generic list for alternate spellings and derivative names. It is not a list of family names that are related to any particular person's family tree. The list lets our system looks at Smith, Smythe, Smithers, and Schmitt as equivalents. People often changed the spellings of their names or translated them. Our related name list was in part automatically generated and in part had entered from established sources. It does contain some mistakes. You are welcome to edit the lists but please only remove names " WeRelate - similar spelling." These were the ones that were automatically generated.
