Cunningham family of Nichol [13 November 2008]

Hi,

I am researching the family of Mary Ann Cunningham of Nichol and Thomas Gowdy of Waterloo who were married by Rev Smellie on 25 May 1853. The marriage was witnessed by Joseph Gowdy, father of Thomas, and a John Cunningham. The newly married couple settled in Guelph, Ontario, where eventually their 2nd daughter, Annie, married John Kennedy.

I have pictures of Mary Ann & Thomas and also of Mary Ann's mother but she is only identified as Mrs. Cunningham.

Karen at the Wellington County Museum has been fantastic (Mary Ann's photo comes from the Cunningham Collection there), but has not been able to assist me in identifying which branch of the Cunningham family, Mary Ann is from.
