Well done!!! I think this has tremendous potential. Will you be able to auto-generate citations on the relevant Person pages and plug this cited text into those data fields? --cos1776 18:26, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

You're very kind. Thank you...
The sky is kind of the limit - I would need some help building a bot presumably. We certainly could distribute this information directly into the source records of Person pages - but I thought we might not start there. To begin with, I was thinking of something like what we do for WP. Each page that has references to Savage would contain a reference to a corresponding template. As more content gets annotated in Savage - the template pages would be refreshed without thrashing the Person pages quite as often.
One of the things that I hope people see with this - is that there is a general approach here. Savage was what I started with because it's available and pretty ubiquitous. I don't want to see the general approach getting torn down because some people think Savage is so far past it's prime that it just shouldn't be used.
I've always thought that getting people to "just know everything" in genealogy (lots of sources, and all their details, etc.) was kind of hopeless. Instead, it may be more reasonable to expect that individuals can become experienced with a particular source or small set of sources. Then - they can work that source to the point of exhausting it - with their efforts being somewhat automatically distributed to the appropriate person pages. It's sort of Henry Ford's insight - instead of hiring a handful of carriage builders with a huge breadth of skills (only one of which they use at any given moment) - we figure out how to benefit from lots of folks who need only acquire a very narrow skill.
