Family:Carl Kassulke and Dorothea Freitag (1) [14 September 2007]

Hi, I am an admin for WeRelate. Its my job to help people get started. Search engines are easily confused and although we can look at all the various ways people record their data and understand it, the computer can't. So, we have had to settle for certain page title conventions, these make it easier for our cousins to find our common ancestor pages and collaborate. The given names (which is all names except the surname, suffixes and prefixes) need to go in the given name field. When multiple names or spelling are included in the surname name field, the search engine treats this set of names as a surname. For instance, even though it will search for all the alternate spellings listed on Surname:Freitag, it will treat "Freitag" is a different surname from "Charlotte Friederike Erdmuthe Freitag," so when a cousin searches for "Freiag", she won't see your page for "Dorothea Charlotte Friederike Erdmuthe Freitag" on the search list. I renamed the page and edited the person pages so you could see how its done. I hope this helps, please leave a message on my talk page if you have any more questions. :)--sq 12:27, 14 September 2007 (EDT)
