I had become interested in genealogy at a young age. One of my great aunts had done a family tree and I remember her talking about it at a family reunion. Unfortunately, I am not sure where any of that information ended up. No one really knows what happened to it upon her death.
My mom had also been very interested in it since she really didn't know anything about her grandparents on her mom's side of the family. Her grandfather in particular was an extreme mystery. Then again, her paternal grandmother had tons of mysteries as well.
