I have been researching my family for over 30 years back when training was very limited to only a few books. One learned the hard way how to overcome brick walls. The internet did not exist and communication was via mail and correspondence from queries placed in newsletters. Things have definitely changed! Even in the libraries where original sources are available, many still look online not knowing the original is in the next room!
My research interests are concentrated in Eastern Tennessee with outreach into Kentucky, Virigina and the Carolinas. I have family members who went west, some who returned home and some who stayed. The families I am researching can be found at the links below.
