My research began as a hobby in 1999 and turned into a passion as I learned more. The information I found let me to a 6th cousin in California who was building a website and welcomed my input. This turned into www.livelyroots.com which grew significantly. He and his wife managed the website until wildfires in California destroyed their home. Most of their research and hard evidence was gone. The website continued until a few years ago when his health began to fail and they experienced a second wildfire / home loss. He's retired and the website is no longer available. I have some hard copies of the research / website information still in my possession.
My interest lies in my roots from the Greenbrier, VA (now WV) area, in my Lively / Davis roots. I also have ties and interests in the Ragland name from the Lynchburg area (and beyond) and also in the Bowers name from the Pennsylvania area into North Carolina and back into West (by God) Virginia.
I used to travel to those areas in search of answers, and hope to again one day when I retire. Until then, I search on the internet and collaborate when possible with others - seeking facts / not "hunches" .......
My biggest "brick wall" is Peter Davis, b. about 1765 in NC - who lived in the Greenbrier area and married Susannah Meadows.
