'== Researching the Farrow Family == My hope is to gather additional information, anecdotes and stories about the Farrow Family that came to Canada from Kendal, Westmorland.

Our Family roots take us back to London, England where James Farrow (approx. 1806-1867) and Elizabeth Hubbard (1811 -1854) raised their family. James and Elizabeth had fourteen children, unfortunately, only four survived infancy, Elizabeth Ann, James Robert, Louisa and Thomas Frederick. From London, England three of James and Elizabeth's children travelled north to Cumbria, England around 1868, Elizabeth Ann Wilson, Louisa Carradus and Thomas Frederick Farrow. James Robert remained in London, England and died in 1876, at the age of 38. Elizabeth Ann Wilson died in Kendal, Cumbria in 1875 at age 36. In 1908, James & Elizabeth's son, Thomas Frederick Farrow emigrated from Kendal, Cumbria to Canada with his wife Nancy Shepherd. Louisa Carradus would remain in Kendal, Cumbria all of her life and die there in 1921. All eight of Thomas Frederick Farrow's children emigrated to Canada between 1903-1908. Six of the children settled in Toronto [Hannah, George, Richard, Annie, Margaret-Agnes, and Maude], one in Winnipeg, Manitoba [William Farrow] and one in Montreal [Thomas Farrow].

With further research, I am hoping to acquire additional details on the Family and enter my findings on WeRelate.org to share with family and other members.

Family history is a perishable commodity. It disappears with time as memories fade and as love ones pass on. The most important aspect of family history is preserving a record of the present for the future.

As Canadian writer, Margaret Atwood said, "In the end, we all become stories." '
