I started researching my family roots around 1999, a question here and there with long intermissions of little activity followed by bursts of in depth research. In 2012 I started panning out into my wife's family too and invested in some software tools to keep everything organized as the database started growing exponentially.
Most of my research concentrates on the geographic areas of Gelderland and Friesland in the Netherlands. As I live in Colorado, I greatfully make use of likeminded persons in the Netherlands to help me find original documents.
I am currently actively researching the following family names:

Van Leeuwen;
Glas;
Bergmans;
Buma;
Miedema
The list continues to grow.
