I have been researching my family and my husband's family as time allows, since 1999. I love the adventure of searching through records for clues to the mysteries of my family lines.

So far, my worst brick wall has been finding information about one of my maternal great-grandfathers, Vincent Pilversack (obviously not original surname spelling). He came to the U.S. in the 1880s from central Europe. He settled on a farm in Wisconsin after spending some time in Illinois. I'm trying to determine his nationality. His surname may have been PILFUSEK or something similar. Family tradition says he was German, but I cannot prove that.

I have found that some of my ancestral lines include individuals in the pre-Revolutionary colonies. Much of my past research has been centered in Orleans Co. NY, central Michigan, and Minnesota.

I am currently a member of the Walter Palmer Society, the National Genealogical Society, the Assn of Professional Genealogists, the Marshall Co. (IN) Genealogical Society, the Algoma Twp (MI) Historical Society, and the Western Michigan Genealogical Society.
