Anna Whitehead and Aaron Bailey Hills
Anna WHITEHEAD was living with her sister Hannah PROUTY in 1861 when she married Aaron Bailey HILLS (22 June 1861) in Burlington, Coffey County Kansas. They had one child in Kansas:
Aaron and Anna (WHITEHEAD) HILLS moved first to Napa County California where they had 4 other children

- Addie May [1866-1940] Married Donald ROSS, Moved to Santa Cruz California
- Clara R [1869-1888] Married Jack STACEY
- Jeanette (Nettie) Anna [1872-1839] Married Ison LEMMONS
They then moved (between 1880-1886) the family to Svenson Clatsop County Oregon where they homesteaded. They lived there until they died.
Salmon PROUTY and Hannah Maria WHITEHEAD
Anna's sister, Hannah Maria WHITEHEAD had married Salmon S PROUTY (three years before Anna's marriage) on 31 May 1858 in Lawrence, Douglas County Kansas and they lived in Burlington where he was the editor of the local newspaper.
Salmon PROUTY was the first State Printer for the state of Kansas and he and his family moved eventually to Topeka.
Hannah joined the DAR and stated, in her application papers (non-documented), her birth as 1838 in Morris County New Jersey and that her father and mother were:
Silas WHITEHEAD and Susan LITTLE
She stated that that Silas was born in 1797 in Morris County New Jersey and died in April 1867 (place unknown)and that her mother Susan was born in 1796 (place unknown).
Also that her Paternal grandparents were John WHITEHEAD and Phoebe TURNER and her maternal grandparents were Simeon LITTLE and _____ YOUNG.
