My interest in genealogy began in the 7th grade when my history teacher offered the class an extra credit opportunity of charting our family tree. Consequently, I had the opportunity to interview all my older relatives (except for 1 deceased grandfather) and, later, those of my husband. That gave me a good starting point. For 42 years I collected information and photographs. After I retired from teaching, I began in earnest the "how to" of research in genealogy. Now it is a consuming passion.
I greatly appreciate this venue for collaboration in research and preservation of information. Having been through a house fire, I appreciate the need to protect data that has been collected for a lifetime. With the oversight for accuracy provided here, this is the perfect spot for my research to land. Thank you, volunteers.
