Introduction

I have been researching my family on and off for the past 20 years. On my mother's side, the family is comprised of a mix of Yankees, who migrated from New England to the Midwest, and German and French emigrants, who made the southern migration from Virgin to East Tennessee to the Ozarks in Arkansas. My father's side is Norwegian, with one branch that traces back from Norway to the Pomerania.

My wife's family adds a layer of complexity. More Yankee lines, English emigrants, and French Canadians who came to Michigan for work in the lumber mills. They're a diverse bunch and an endless source of fascination.
