Researching two family groups, the Barretts and the Mortensens.
The hub location for the Barrett's is Canadian County, Oklahoma. Folks came there around the time of the 1889 Land Rush from Kansas; Texas; Osage County, Missouri; Whitley County, Kentucky; Campbell County, Tennessee.
The Mortensen's were Utah pioneers, coming in from Denmark, Scotland, England and various US states, and then venturing out to California; Arizona; New Mexico.
Research is ongoing, with an emphasis on census records. Sources are family records, published books, and internet records. I have been citing sources and entering notes, but there are gaps. Any corrections or suggestions are welcome.
