My name is Chuck Filteau. I am now retired, living in a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona.

I have been researching the descendants of Pierre Filteau and Gillette Savard (married in 1666 in Quebec) for more than 25 years. As of Nov 2013, I have the names of more than 12,000 people who are descendants and 90,000 people who are inter-related though marriage.

The Filteau name, over the years, has been transformed into Fecteau (or Fecto) and Facteau (or Facto) - as the major branches. But I have documented more than 75 various spellings.

NOTE - I suggest you do not search directly for Filteau or Fecteau or Facteau - you will get thousands of names. Instead, do your research by accessing my data using the maiden name of the spouse/mother

I believe I have all of the family members who have been documented in the various census records of the USA as well as the 1851 through 1911 census records for Canada.

In addition, there are many images of birth - baptism, marriage, and death - burial records.

If you need help finding French Canadian families, I might be able to help. I have access to millions of names in Quebec - for birth/baptisms, marriages, and deaths/burials.
