Content on this page relates to a discussion I found at the Watercooler, "WeRelate's Place in Top 100 Genealogy Websites. The last results available from GITMag appears to be http://www.genealogyintime.com/articles/top-100-genealogy-websites-of-2016-page02.html (confirmed archived at Internet Archive and Archive.is).
I took the top 50 sites and used the Alexa ranking checker to generate traffic statistics. This required putting in 5 urls at a time, then collating results. The good news ... according to this analysis, WeRelate (which appears at the bottom of the list) has lifted from Rank 100 to Rank 45 between 2016 and 2018.
Caveats of this review -- only the top 50 of the top 100 list were reviewed; not clear what measure was used by GITMag to generate their ranking ... there might be new sites which have emerged and are popular, which would push low ranking sites to a lower rank.
