My name is Bob Schlachter. I just joined WeRelate today, 11 Jan 2008, but I have been doing my family's genealogy for about 10 years.
I am researching Schlachter's who came from Germany in mid-1800's and settled mainly in Louisville, Kentucky. One of them, John, went to California. Some later moved to the Cincinnati area on the Kentucky side of the river.
Kappesser's came supposedly in 1835, settled in southern Indiana in Vevay and migrated to Louisville then to Campbell County Kentucky.
The first Dilling I have was John who served in the Union forces during the Civil War and settled around Cincinnati. He died in 1895.
I am also researching Doyle's in the Philadelphia area. James arrived from Ireland in 1847.
Forbes from Patterson, N.J. is also a name I am trying to research.--Bobcs 22:43, 12 January 2008 (EST)
