Defect 1 [23 June 2014]

It does not appear that Bond says this. In fact, on p. 773, Bond says the daughter of William Godfrey, named Sarah, m. John Clifford. That is a correction to p. 257 which lists Sarah as a daughter of William but assigns no marriage to her.

Source:Sheppard, Walter Lee. Ancestry and Descendants of Thomas Stickney Evans and Sarah Ann Fifield, His Wife, Both of Fryeburg, Maine suggests Savage was actually referring to NEHGR, p. 9:160 (1855), but if so, it was a misinterpretation of what it actually says, as the reference there was to the father, also named Thomas, who married Sarah Brewer, not to the son.

So it appears nobody suggested that Thomas Webster married Sarah Godfrey, except Savage, who then claimed it doubtful, the one correct thing he said in this passage. --Jrich 03:22, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
