Defect 1 [4 November 2017]

Rev. John Tufts had only one wife, a different John Tufts m. 1723 Elizabeth (Pratt) Sargent (Wyman's Charlestown Genealogies says he is cousin of Rev. Tufts, son of uncle John). The John of the 1723 marriage is called of Charlestown in the marriage record, which occurs in Medford, so not clear why it was thought to apply to John Tufts of Newbury. Sarah is named in the birth records as the mother of children Sarah in 1725 and John in 1727, i.e., after the supposed marriage to Elizabeth Sargent in 1723. The first son John given by Savage, born and died in Medford (except he didn't die, the death record 20 months later was the father, i.e., the other John Tufts who died, the son probably living until 1802), and belongs to the other couple as well. --Jrich 07:45, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
