The marriage record clearly names Samuel's wife as Mary Phillips and Savage appears to have invented a mythical Mary Wiswall who did not exist in Elder Thomas Wiswall's family. Savage misidentified a reference to Samuel Payson, executor of Ebenezer Wiswall's will, as the son of Edward, when the Samuel Payson referred to was a different Samuel Payson, son of Giles, and then did not check the marriage record, or even the ages of the purported wife and husband to see if his arrangement made any sense. --Jrich 14:14, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
