Anderson is definitive about this wife being Hannah and daughter of John Barnard. Perhaps the original text was "w.(ife) OR d." (not w. OF d.) - but we defer to Anderson in any case.


Defect 2

Not daughter of Samuel (who had no daughter Mary), but grand-daughter (daughter of his son Edward), b. 1687. See History of Cambridge Vol. 2, p. 562.

The reference to Edmund Trowbridge, s/o Thomas and Mary Trowbridge, and to Edmund Goffe, his great-uncle, is explained more fully on that page as well. It is interesting because the second was guardian of the first when the father Edward died, and the first later returned the favor, acting as guardian of the second as age made him incapable of managing his affairs. --Jrich 16:40, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
