Joanna Appleton m. Matthew Whipple as shown by several births recorded in Ipswich to Mathew "sr." and Johanna, including a son named Appleton Whipple. No births recorded for a Nathaniel Whipple in Ipswich, and Savage has no entry for anyone named Nathaniel under Whipple. Savage has only one entry on Matthew Whipple, even though the use of "sr." indicates there were more than one, and his descriptions shows he did not get all the Matthew Whipples sorted out properly as he is not sure of the parentage. --Jrich 21:53, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
