Defect 1

Jrich indicates in [Person:John Allen (81)]:

"[Note: Source:Anderson, Robert Charles. Great Migration: Immigrants to New England, 1634-1635, Vol. 1, p. 39, says Savage misidentified this John Allen as the passenger on the Abigail. Anderson says the passenger on the Abigail was actually the man Savage calls "Allen, John, Plymouth 1633, was perhaps of Scituate, 1646, ... d. 1662 ...wid. Ann and s. John ...". Citing Wyman, Anderson says Capt. John Allen doesn't show up in Charlestown until 1639 and he already had a wife Sarah at that time.]"

Defect 2

Jrich indicates in [Person:John Allen (81)]:

"[The reference to Buddington probably refers to Source:Budington, William Ives. History of the First Church, Charlestown : In Nine Lectures, with Notes, p. 249: Admissions to Full Communion: 1668. Mar. 29. "Mrs Mary Ransford (Capt. Allen's daughter)". Note that Mary was not mentioned in her father's will, and Source:NEHGR, p. 139:305 (publ. 1985) says Jonathan Raynsford m. Mary Sunderland, who m. (2) Joshua Hobart, and such a marriage is recorded in Boston (p. 57). Further Jonathan and Mary had a daughter Dorothy, which was Mary Sunderland's mother's name. So Savage seems to be wrong about the marriage of daughter Mary. The reference to the Almanac refers to a chronology published in NEHGR that was compiled from some almanacs belonging to Judge Sewall, the pertinent entry being "March 29. 2. Now a [ ] Capt. Alli [ ] of Charl [ ] dyes. T [ ] frater."]"

Defect 3
