June; and his wid. m. 15 Aug. 1676, Thomas Tarbell. JOHN, Newtown,
L. I. one of the patentees of Hempstead 1644, was there in
1655, but was first of Ipswich, came at the age of 17 with his mo.
Joan Tuttle
, and sixteen other Tuttles, in the Planter, from London,
1635, hav. certif. from St. Albans, Co. Herts; after the conq. of New
York, rem. thither and was an alderman, mayor of the city, judge of the
Sop. Ct. of the Prov. d. 1699. He had Joseph, John, Thomas, Martha,
Susanna, and Mary, wh. were all m. but none left issue to reach
maturity exc. this last, whose h. was William Whittingham. JOHN, Boston,
m. 8 Feb. 1654, Elizabeth Atkinson, had Elizabeth b. 9 May 1653, but wh.
the w. was, or his parentage, is unkn. Perhaps he was the pub. executioner,
appoint. 1669, serv. many yrs. complain. of inadequacy of support
by loss of employm. JOHN, Boston, of that pt. call Muddy riv.
now Brookline, m. 30 Sept. 1657, Sarah, d. of Thomas Buckminster, or
by rec. Buckmaster. JOHN, Wrentham, by w. Sarah, wh. d. 25 Mar.

the Ind. 1694 at Brookfield, whither he had recent. rem. His wid. m.
1705, Ebenezer Wells of Hatfield. NATHANIEL, Groton, s. of John,
freem. 1672, m. 13 Mar. 1660, Sarah, d. of John Morse of Sudbury,
had Nathaniel, b. 4 Apr. 1661; Sarah, 1 Jan. 1663, d. soon, both at S.;
Hannah, 3 July 1664; John, 29 July 1667, wh. d. at Lexington, 12
Mar. 1746; Mary, 3 Mar. 1670; Sarah, again, 16 May 1672; Elizabeth 6
Sept. 1674, d. next yr.; Elizabeth again; and Deborah, 24 Mar. 1683; and
by sec. w. Hannah had Hannah, again, 26 Apr. 1687; Mary, again, 16
Oct. 1690; and Jonathan, 14 June 1696; and d. 14 Apr. 1724. As in
his will of 4 Aug. 1718, no w. is nam. it may seem prob. that she was d.
His s. John of Lexington, blacksmith, had Amos, youngest of ten ch.
whose third s. Samuel was f. of Amos, Luther, William, Abbot, the min.
of the U. S. at the Court of London, and Samuel, all disting. in our day
for pub. serv. and private munif. NICHOLAS, Charlestown 1648, may
have been that br. of first John, design. by his will. NICHOLAS, Dorchester,
8. of Thomas, by w. Mary had Patience, b. 13 June 1658, d.
young; and he d. 1685; in his will of 26 Jan. pro. 21 May of that yr.
gives his w. Mary, and eldest s. Without nam. him, and calls the ch.
Mary, Rebecca, Nicholas, and Benjamin. PELEG, Groton, br. of Nathaniel,
m. 1668, Elizabeth d. of John Morse, had Eliab, b. 9 Jan. 1669;
Samuel, 16 Oct. 1671; Eleazer, 28 Feb. 1674; Elizabeth wh. d. 10 Oct.
