as had his f. and the wid. aft. his d. 20 July 1683, retain. the care of it
until 1711, when she gave it to Samuel, wh. next yr. sold that "great
house" built 1629 for the Gov. and Comp. and wh. above 80 yrs. for the
three generat. had been the "Long" tavern. The wid. d. aft. 14 Apr.
1720, the date of will. Mary, the ch. by first w. m. 23 Jan. 1677,
Henry Sanford; Catharine m. 24 May 1694, William Wellstead.
JOSEPH, Dorchester 1660, s. of Mary, the w. of Joseph Farnsworth,
by her former h. for wh. in F.'s will, as also for his br. Thomas, good
provis. was made. By w. Mary, whose surname is not kn. m. 3 Feb.
1662, he had Mary, and d. 26 Aug. 1676. His wid. m. Thomas Litchfield,
from wh. she was divorc. and d. a. 1703. The d. Mary, on the
same authority, I learn, had m. Henry Straight of Greenwich, R. I.
JOSHUA, Charlestown, youngest s. of first Robert of the same, H. C.
1653, has nothing, not even date of d. to be learn. but he was liv. 1659,
when f. made his will. MICHAEL, Charlestown, eldest br. of the preced.
came with his f. had by w. Joan (wh. d. 19 Jan. 1692, aged 74, says the
gr.stone) Samuel; Hannah, b. 29 Dec. 1657; and Deborah, 1, bapt; 2
Oct. 1659, d. under 19 yrs.; and he d. 12 Jan. 1689, aged a. 78.
NICHOLAS, aged 19, came in the Blessing, 1635, from London, but no
more can be told of him; and equal. ign. are we of Ellen L. a serv. of
Samuel Andrens, aged 20. PHILIP, Ipswich 1648, rem. to Boston, m.
prob. as sec w. Ann, wid. of Thomas Constable, had Joseph, b. 16 or 20
Aug. 1652. His d. Sarah m. 1656, Benjamin Briscoe; and he had
ano. d. In 1656, he was of Edgartown, on the Vineyard; in Oct. 1689;
made his will, bound to sea, and d. next yr. as may be infer. from the
pro. of the will, 13 Nov. 1659. RICHARD, Weymouth 1635. RICHARD,
Salisbury, by w. Ann, d. of Joseph French of the same, had Elizabeth
b. 30 Oct. 1680; William, 25 June 1682; Richard; 3 Jan. 1684; Susanna,
30 Nov. 1685; Joseph, 6 Jan. 1688; Sarah, 13 Oct. 1689;
Eleanor, 16 Jan. 1691; and Sarah, 13 Jan. 1693. ROBERT, Plymouth,
was passeng. in the Ann, 1623, had sh. in the div. of ld. but was rem.
bef. 1627, when the div. of cattle was made, unless he d. in the interval.
Morton's Memor. Davis's Ed. 379. ROBERT, Charlestown, came in
the Defence from London, 1635, aged 45, with w. no doubt his sec. Elizabeth
30, says the custom-ho. rec. but prob. 33, and ten ch. Michael, 20;
Sarah, 18; Robert, 16; Elizabeth 12; Ann, 10; Mary, 9; Rebecca, 8;
John, 6; Zechary, 4; and Joshua, 9 mos.; had here Hannah, b. 2, bapt.
12 Mar. 1637; Ruth, bapt. 3 June 1639; Deborah, 10 Aug. 1642; and
was freem. 25 May 1636. He had been an innholder at Dunstable, Co.
Bedford, 30 ms. from London, therefore well kn. to Rev. Zechariah
Symmes, rector in that ch. (in whose honor, perhaps, he call. one of his
