1681; and Elisha, Mar. 1683. GEORGE, Boston, freem. 13 May 1640,
join. our ch. 4 Aug. preced. call. "serv. to our teacher Mr. John Cotton."
He had gr. of a lot for two head, 30 Dec. 1640, when, prob. he was
recent. m. at Muddy riv. HENRY, Watertown 1636, an orig. propr. of
Sudbury, m. Mary, d. of Nicholas Guy,[1] had Ephraim, b. 31 Mar. 1642;
John, 1614; and Joseph, 1647; nam. in their gr.mo.'s will, 1666; and
d. 8 May 1678. HENRY, Windsor, m. 13 May 1645, Elizabeth Abell; had
Samuel, b. 26 Apr. 1649; Nathaniel, 15 July 1651; rem. to Northampton,
and d. 30 Nov. 1661, leav. wid. Elizabeth (wh. m. 22 June 1662,
Richard Weller, from Windsor), and these s. of wh. Samuel d. 11 Sept.
1680. HENRY, Boston, by w. Jane had John, b. 2 July 167. HENRY,
Marblehead, perhaps went to Pemaquid bef. 1674, where he and Henry
jr. in that yr. took the o. of fidel. ISAAC, Roxbury, youngest ch. of
William, m. 10 May 1670, Hannah, d. of John Polley, had Isaac, b. 25
Jan. 1671, d. young; Hannah, 9 Dec. 1672; Samuel, d. young; Susanna,
2 Feb. 1680; Mehitable, 11 Mar. 1684; Isaac, again, 10 Nov.
1685; Samuel, again, 2 Sept. 1688; and d. 31 May 1695. His wid.
d. 6 Feb. 1720. Samuel, wh. m. 6 June 1711, Hannah Gore, and d. 19
Feb. 1772, had eleven ch. of wh. are num. descend. in Boston and Roxbury.
The sixth Isaac in regular success. now enjoys his inherit. of the
same est. giv. to first Isaac by his f. for maintain. f. and mo. ISRAEL,
Stratford 1669, s. of that lubricous John of the same (suppos. to have
been found as s. of William of Roxbury), by w. Rebecca had Israel, b.
20 May 1668; John, Oct. 1670; Stephen, 24 Aug. 1673; Peter; Hannah;
and Rebecca; and he d. Oct. 1704, as in Cothren is set forth.
JOHN, Dover, adm. an inhab. 24 Apr. 1636, but, perhaps, as no more is
heard of him there, he rem. to Roxbury. JOHN, Stratford 1650-85.
Trumbull, I. 105, says he came from Roxbury; and he had John, b.
Oct. 1642. But all of it seems erron. He was really s. of the wid. C.;
had, says the preposter. tradit. d. Elizabeth old eno. to m. John, the eldest s.
of Gov. Thomas Welles, bear. to him sev. ch. and, next, m. 19 Mar.
1663, John Wilcockson. Almost every word of Trumbull, and of
Cothren, borro. from T. in relat. to the Roxbury deriv. of John, and
William, is wrong; and must have been a tradit. of the mid. of the
eighteenth century. Yet a true John of S. by w. Elizabeth wh. d. as
Cothren tells, 1682, beside that John of 1642, had Israel, Apr. 1644;
Elizabeth May 1647 (wh. by the tradit. bec. w. of John Welles, eldest s. of
the Gov. bore him one s. in 1648, the yr. aft. her own b. and tw. 1651);
Thomas, Jan. 1649; Joseph, Nov. 160; Benjamin, Sept. 1652; and
