June 1688. Elizabeth m. Jan. 1652 (not 42 yrs. later, as in Geneal. Reg.
IX. 177, when she d.), James Blake; Prudence m. Feb. 1661, Simon Peck
of Hingham, as his sec. w.; and Esther m. 19 June 1684, Samuel Strong, of
Northampton. ELIJAH, Scituate, was a witness, 1662, to the will of Joseph
Wormall. Perhaps, as no more is heard of him, he was only trans. visit. EZRA
Dorchester, eldest s. of Edward, freem. 1666, by first w. Abigail Pond
sis. I suppose, of the w. of his cous. Desire, had Mary, b. 26 Apr. 1667
Edward, Sept. 1672, wh. was lost in Phips's crusade, 1690, against
Quebec; Ezra, 29 Jan. 1674, wh. d. 10 Apr. 1691; Abigail, 1675,
Sarah, 20 July 1677; Judith, 6 May 1680; and Elizabeth 1 Oct. 1682
His w. d. 13 Oct. 1682, and he m. 22 May 1684, Experience, d. a
Ralph Houghton of Lancaster, had William, July 1685; Jane, 12 Mar.
1687; Nehemiah; Ezra, again, 18 Mar. 1693; Ebenezer, 3 Feb. 1697
Esther, 10 Feb. 1699; and Susanna, 7 Mar. 1702. He own. much ld.
in that part of D. wh. had bec. Milton, and there his w. d. 17 Dec.
1717, and he d. 23 of next mo. HOPESTILL, Dorchester, s. of Roger
freem. 1678, m. 18 Apr. 1672, Susanna, d. of Thomas Swift, had Susanna,
b. 23 Dec. 1673; Elizabeth 29 Feb. 1676; Sarah, 13 Jan. 1678
Hopestill, 26 Nov. 1679; Ruth, 10 Oct. 1682; Mary, 22 Sept. 1685, d.
soon; Supply, 25 Oct. 1686, d. in few weeks; Jerijah, or Jarizah, 15
Feb. 1689, d. soon; Unite, 2 Oct. 1690, d. soon; was rul. elder, and
2 Sept. 1719. Of the eight ch. Hopestill alone could have preserv. the
male line in this branch of capt. Roger's descend. but, tho. he liv. to 2
Dec. 1739, and was deac. 36 yrs. he never was m. INCREASE, Barnstable,
m. Oct. 1675, Elizabeth wid. of Nathaniel Goodspeed, had John, b.
Oct. 1676; Charity, Mar. 1678; Benjamin; Thomas, Jan. 1681, d. in
two yrs.; and Thomas, again, Oct. 1684, bapt. Mar. foll. JOHN, Dorchester
1636, br. of Nicholas, freem. 1647, had w. Joan, no ch. and
d. 14 or 24 July 1655. His will of 11 of that mo. explains the fam. much;
and the wid. m. next yr. John Ellis of Medfield. NATHANIEL, Dorchester,
elder s. of Nicholas, m. 31 Mar. 1668, Elizabeth Smith, had Nathaniel, 20 Jan.
1669, H. C. 1690; John, 7 Apr. 1671; Jonathan, 31 Aug. 1673; Elizabeth 22
May 1676; Ebenezer, 25 Oct. 1678; and Mehitable, 30 Aug. 1684,
wh. d. young. He was freem. 1660, so that we see, as in the case
of Cotton Mather, that minors might be adm. if they had stand. in the
