In the name of God Amen I David Herron of Newton Township in the County of Cumberland State of Pennsylvania being weak of body but of sound judgement and meory blessed be God for ? to me and calling to mind my ? that is is appoint for all men to die ? this seventh day of Feb in the year one thousand seven hundred and seventy eight make and ordain this my last will and testament in the mannner and form following this to say principally and first of all I do commit and command my soul at death to who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent Christian way ? at the discretion of my executors. In hopes of a glorious resurrection ? of my Savior Jesus Christ and to my worldy estate what it has pleased God to endow me with I do dispose of as follows to y well beleoved wife Elizabeth Herron I do give and bequeath the second choice of the horse ? two cows the one be at three years old the other a year old at the time of their receiving them her bed and furniture her wheel? her maintenance during her widowhood or abode wiht my children. To my son John I do give and bequeath my blue cloth coat and my black velvet waistcoat and one hundred pounds ni money and to my son in law William William Walker. I do give and bequeath my brown wristed coat my brown cloth waistcoat and to my daughter Mary children I do give and bequeath sixty pounds in money. To my daugher Rachel's children she being in wife to George Meck I do give and bequeath forty pounds which is all I allow when and to my daughter Jane's children now wife to Robert Patton I do give and bequeath forty pounds and to my daughter Hannah's children she being now wife to John Wilson I give and bequeath forty pounds and no more.

I allow to any of my daughter's husbands or children what is before mentioned an to my two sons David and Samuel Herron I do give and bequeath all my estate of lands, the place wher I now live and my claim and improvement joining John Wilson and others to be equally divided between them and to David I give and bequeath the black horse and to Samuel I give and bequeath the three year old Brown colt and also I do ordain and appoint and hereby do authorize and I impower my executors hereafter mentoined to make sale of convyeance and transfer the purchases to thhe best advantage to the tract of land before mentioned joining John Wilson an dothers as also my effects and moveables that they as ? twos sons the plae thereon I now live and all and every part of my estate effects and money that remains after paying the legacies ? mentioned I do give and bequeath to be equally divided between my two sons after my first debst ar paid namely David and Samuel and further constitute and appoint my loving and faithful brother in law William Walker an dmy true and trusty friend John Bowman to be executors of this my last will and testament and revoking and disannulling all former wills and testaments by me made.
