PRIVATE ARTHUR GREY
Word has been received by Mrs. A.
Goltz, of Tarnagulla, that. her brother,
Private Arthur Grey has been severely
wounded in action, having sustained a gun
shot wound in the head and shell concus-
sion of the back. A brother of the wound-
ed soldier, Horace, has completely disap-
peared, and no trace of him can he found.
Up to the time of the Lone Pine engage-
ment in August, 1915, Horace was a regu-
lar writer to his sister, but since then no-
thing has been seen or heard of him. The
Defence authorities still continue paying
his allowance to his mother. The only
information they have received of him was
a letter returned to Mrs. Goltz, informing
her that the addressee had been killed
in action, and was signed by a lieutenant.
The Defence authorities were at once noti-
fied, but to date have not reported the lad
missing or killed, stating they have no
trace or record of him. The case seems
very remarkable, and as the relatives have
not received any communication from
Horace for over 12 mouths, they are of
opinion that the worst has happened to
him. Great sympathy is felt for the
family in its anxiety. Private Devon Grey,
another member of the family, is also on
active service.
