CHARLTON.--Mr. George Pryke, a resident of this district for 26 years, died on Monday, after a very short illness, from pneumonia. Deceased leaves a widow and family of seven.--On Wednesday a presentation of a watch and chain was made to ex- Councillor John Nolen by the ratepayers, in recognition of his services as a member of the Charlton Shire Council for several years. The presentation was made by Councillor William Churchill, at the Globe Hotel, in the presence of a number of residents.
