Link also to SQUID [3 November 2024]

As we have the Wikidata QID its easy to link SQID Q202266 that I feel is an easier way to read Wikidata. Suggestion also add an URL to SQUID to display data i Wikidata - Salgo60 10:51, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

I'm for this change over the longer term - the presentation is definitely a lot better. I'm just not sure it would be quite as convenient for me while I still have thousands of pages to work through. --jrm03063 18:27, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
The sqid page is nice, but I found the page loaded very slowly, taking several minutes. YMMV. --robert.shaw 03:39, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

We could add a link to SQID to this template, so that it has 2 links:

  • first link displays the Wikidata ID and links to the Wikidata page
  • second link says "SQID view" or "(in SQID)" or some similar phrase and links to the SQID page

People will figure out which view they like best once they check it out.

I also found the SQID page somewhat slower, but loaded within a couple of seconds. I'm assuming they have optimized since 2017 - it looks like it from the SQID home page. I did notice, however, that the "still loading" icon appeared for quite some time, but I didn't notice that anything new was added to the page once it stopped. If this seems to be an issue (because it is somewhat disconcerting), then maybe we disregard SQID for now.

What I don't think we should have is 2 separate templates - this one for Wikidata and WikidataSQID for a link to SQID. I assume the latter was created as a "proof of concept", as it is only used on one page.

Thoughts?--DataAnalyst 02:13, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
