Wulfrida (or Saint Wulfrida) was a queen of Wessex in the ninth century. Little is known about Wulfrida's life. She married Æthelred of Wessex (also known as Æþelræd of Wessex) in 868, and she was the mother of his sons Æþelwold (later King of Northumbria) and Æþelhelm, perhaps an ancestor of Harald II Godwinson, the last Anglo-Saxon king of England. The parish church of Horton is dedicated to her. |
