Template:RefutedHusband/doc

This template is used on a Person or Family page to show that evidence refutes a specific husband for the person or as part of the couple.

Usage

Place the following on the Person or Family page.

{{RefutedHusband|PersonPageName}}

where PersonPageName is the simple page name (without the "Person:"), like "George Washington (1)".

When using this template, it is particularly important to support the fact with sources and notes. An unsupported assertion is not compelling.

You should also add a corresponding "RefutedWife" or "RefutedFamily" template on the refuted husband's Person page. That template usage should give the Person or Family page name of the page you use this template on.

Suggested Placement

This template was designed for placement in the "Description" field of an event/fact (a fact type of "Other" can be used), rather than for use within a narrative (note the label included in the display). However, it can be used in the "Narrative" section, followed by a explanation of why the relationship is refuted.

Example

{{RefutedHusband|George Washington (1)}}

will appear as:

Refuted husband: George Washington (1)

See conventions for refuted family relationships for examples of how to use refuted relationship templates in pairs for various situations.
