Template:Grandparents/doc

This template is used on a Person page to link to their grandparents when the person's parent is still living.

Usage

Place the following on the Person page.

{{Grandparents|FamilyPageName}}

where FamilyPageName is the simple page name (without the "Family:"), like "George Washington and Martha Dandridge (1)".

You should also add a corresponding "Grandchild" template on the referenced Family page. That template usage should give the Person page name of the page you use this template on.

Note: Remember to remove the templates when creating the Person page and standard relationship links for the parent after his or her death.

Suggested Placement

This template was designed for placement in the "Description" field of an event/fact (a fact type of "Other" can be used), rather than for use within a narrative (note the label included in the display). However, it can be used in the "Narrative" section.

Example

will appear as:

Grandparents: George Washington and Martha Dandridge (1)
