Template:Combatant/doc

This template is used on a Person page to indicate that a person participated in a historically recognized battle or military action.

Usage

Place the following on the Person page.

{{Combatant|BattleName}}

where BattleName is the name fragment of a category page with a title of the form "Category:Battle of BattleName", for example, "Agincourt" implies "Category:Battle of Agincourt".

Suggested Placement

The template can be placed in the "Description" field of an event/fact of type "Military", or of type "Death" if the person died in the battle. Alternately, it can be placed in the "Narrative" section.

Example

{{Combatant|Agincourt}}

will appear as

Combatant of Agincourt

linking to the page "Category:Battle of Agincourt" (which will include the Person page).
