@Henk again... very little left of anything around Hastings street. It's all been torn down. I've never looked too much in Lawndale. The School is still there and still a school. The area around Austin and Roosevelt is still pretty much there. All of the Churches which are really the landmarks are still there. Two brand new Dutch Churches in Elmhurst now and a huge Dutch Old Peoples home. They don't call themsevles Dutch Churches anymore either. I think Sweirenga wrote only about half the Dutch were active in their Churches and the rest of us assimilated quickly (my family in that half). I had no idea all of the west side Dutch came from a small area of Holland until I started researching on the net and came accross Swierenga.--henk 13:42, 6 July 2013 (EDT)
