The following is a list of references being used to collect information about specific individuals present in Southwest Virginia during the Settlement and Revolutionary War period. The works included here are "standard references", of considerable use for many individuals based on primary source material. Sources which focus on specific individuals, or which do not include the underlying sources for their information, are not included here.
