Description

"A genealogy of the Birchard family published in 1927 refers to a notebook maintained by a member of the family in the latter part of the eighteenth century: 'Also see records just found (1926) kept by Jesse, a son of this John, and in the possession of a descendant, Levi Thomas Birchard, Birchardville, Pa.' The John in question is John4 Birchard (Samuel3, John2, Thomas1), and Levi Thomas was great-grandson of the Jesse Birchard who kept the notebook. The notebook is currently (1989) in the possession of Dayton Levi10 Birchard of Montrose, Pa., grandson of Levi Thomas.

The notebook, which carries the title 'A Book of Reacords,' contains mostly vital statistics of the family of Jesse5 Birchard of Norwich (now Bozrah, Conn.), and of some of his ancestors, going back to seventeenth century immigrants of the Birchard and Baldwin families."
