Various title changes: starting as Suffolk Chronicle then Mercury and Suffolk Chronicle 28 Apr 1961-14 Sep 1962 then Suffolk Mercury to 1980. Also published in various localised editions start dates uncertain. Stowmarket edition see Stowmarket Mercury. East, later Framlingham, edition for many years became "Eye and Framlingham" 21 Jan 1971-no. 7469 2 Mar 1972 and continued as Framlingham and Eye Mercury. Ipswich and South edition 3 Jul 1970-7 Nov 1980, continued as Ipswich Mercury. Early history of East/Framlingham edition needs further investigation. --Newsplan
