Usage Tips

There are two court houses for Pottawattamie County. The original at Council Bluffs was established in 1848 for the whole county. In 1885 the second was established in Avoca, in the northeast corner for those in the eastern part so they wouldn’t have to travel the full length of the county. These books do not specify which courthouse the records come from.

Contents: 1869-1874 (Register book A) -- Nov. 1902-Dec. 1905 -- 1912-1914 -- 1921-1925 -- 1926-1930 -- 1931-1935.
