John Porter (1590-1648), the founder of Windsor, Connecticut, was born at Kenilworth, Warwickshire, England, the son of John and Sybil Vessay Porter. He married Ann White in 1620 at Messing, Essex, England. They had eleven children 1621-1642. The family settled in Connecticut Valley in 1639.
