Description
Prior to 1867, the Maryland Historical Society had not intended to publicly publish their collected materials, but a $10,000 gift from Baltimore philanthropist, George Peabody, that year changed their minds. His gift established the beginning of a publication fund which began with this series of periodicals and grew to included numerous other publications.
Each periodical in the series has a distinct number, title and occasionally supplement. They can be found published individually or in book form, containing several individual titles.
