Engrossed and Probate

In the name of God amen. I John HOUSHEL of the Township of Amwell in the County of Hunterdon and province of New Jersey being in perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling to mind the variability(?) of life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say Prinsipelly I commend my soul to the hands of god almighty who gaveth me and my Body to the earth from whence it came to be buried in a Christain and decent manner at the discretion of my executors hereafter named. In hopes of a joyfull resurrection through the merits of my Dear Redeemer Jesus Christ and as for such worldly estate as it has been pleased to God to bless me with I describe thereof as followeth first I will that all my just debts and funeral charges be justly paid and hounorabley discharged from my moneabel estate by my executor as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.

Item I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Nelley HOUSHAL the sum of ten pounds lawful procklamation money to be paid to her by my two sons Peter and William yearly and every year succesfullay as long as she continues my widow. Also a room in my house where I now dwell of her own chusing and for her own propper uses without any molestration or anticipation during her widowhood also one feather bed and other furniture of her own chosing. Likewise to have one cow kept on the place winters and summers and to have in the same manner as Peters and Williams does and to find and procure for their said mother soficient meet drink and cloathing as much as she shall want or have occation of for her own use and to find and to provide free firewood for her want at he stove as long as she remains my widow but if she sees cause to marry and so doth then she shall be dipposoeth of said estate both real and personal except the household furniture.

Item I give to my two sons Peter and William the plantation I now dwells on Likewise the house and loft I bought from Andrew TRIMMER to them and their heirs and assigns forever excepting their out the buring ground for the use of the family for ever.  ??? too I will my whole persoanal estate to my two sons with my clock and the household furniture remaining, that is not heretofore reserved to my wife.

Item I will my son Peter ten pounds in cash more than Williams like share is.

Item I give to my soninlaw Andrew TRIMMER fifty pounds to be paid by my executor as followeth, that is twenty five pounds one year after my decease and the remainder twenty five pounds two years after my decease out of my moonebel.

Item. I give to my gran daughter Mary TRIMMER one cow.

Item. I give to my daughter Elizabeth's children forty pounds to be paid out upon use for them three years after my decease by my executors out of my moonebel estate and ?????? ?????? they become of age.

Item. It is further my will that if either of my sons should depart this life without one heir that their part of the land shall be by my executors appraised and if they cannot agree they have liberty to chose two of their neighbors to assist them in appraising the Land and one third of the money of said land to be Equally divided between my Daughters Children as they cometh of age by my executors and the other part to the surviving brother or his heirs.

Item I nominte and appoint my two brothers Jacob and Mathias HOUSHAL to be the Executors of this my Last will and testament. I do hereby utterly forfit and disallow all previous wills heretofore by me if made. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of February in the year of our Lord 1761.
